Grower

This position can be structured to be a great opportunity for someone in search of an Internship.

The leading wholesale horticulture and landscape supply business in New England is looking for an annual and perennial GROWER. Prior horticultural, greenhouse, nursery or agricultural background is highly recommended.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Daily maintenance (watering, fertilizing and pest management) of crops, as well as monitoring and affecting the progress of plant growth in an effort to meet sales deadlines.

We are seeking an experienced individual for our full time year round opportunity of buying Annuals and Perennials.

Ideal Candidate will:

Have exceptional knowledge of annuals and perennials
Have prior experience buying annuals and perennials
Display proven buying success
Benefit from remarkable negotiating skills and business knowledge
Keep current on new plants and industry trends
Be well-informed of sources from where to purchase excellent quality plant material
Aspire to seek out the best plant material to ensure Cavicchio’s success
Proven success of maintaining successful relationships with Vendors
Locate and cultivate new vendors
Possess excellent organizational and time management skills
Think and react quickly to customer inquiries and requests

Equipment Mechanic

We are seeking an experienced individual for our full time year round opportunity.

Responsibilities Include:

Trouble shooting and diagnosing mechanical and electrical difficulties for
heavy equipment and tractor trailer trucks.
Performing diesel and gasoline engine maintenance and repair on the same types of equipment.
Performing maintenance and repair on other equipment as necessary including but not limited to trailers, forklifts, loaders, tractors, grinders.
Other responsibilities and projects assigned by supervisor.

Requirements for this position:

Solid mechanic experience and work history is a MUST.
Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose.
Ability to read and interpret manuals
Ability to complete appropriate work orders, parts requests etc.
Positive attitude, solutions oriented and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Enjoy working with others; helping others and the company succeed. Respect for co-workers.
High School diploma and equivalent specialized training in mechanics.
Valid driver’s license.
Provide tools for this type of work.

Pluses for this position:

Welding experience.
Hydraulic experience.
Class A ”CDL” license.
Ability to communicate in Spanish.

Truck Mechanic - Full Time Year Round

Successful candidate will have proven ability to:

Diagnose difficulties with tractor trailer trucks.
Efficiently make repairs.
Record all work performed on all trucks.
Perform preventative maintenance.

Successful candidate must also:

Have a valid driver license; CDL is preferred but not required.
Be able to and willing to change priorities at a moments notice.
Communicate effectively with staff in all areas and supervisors.
Speak, read and write English; the ability communicate in Spanish is a plus but not a requirement.
Have proper tools necessary to perform diagnosis, maintenance and repair efficiently and effectively.

Essential Job Functions Include:

Ability to safely work with power tools for maintaining and repairing CDL Trucks.
Ability to safely diagnose tractor trailer trucks and heavy equipment
Ability to test drive trucks and heavy equipment to diagnose problem and analyze repair.
